Should I see Alessio or Lucy for my condition?
Both treat vestibular conditions, TMJ disorders, migraines, and chronic
pain. The key difference is in complexity and approach.
See Alessio if your condition is:
- Complex or chronic (lasting 3+ months)
- Hasn’t responded to conventional physiotherapy
- Keeps returning despite treatment
- Multi-layered or affects multiple areas
Alessio uses a holistic, integrative approach addressing body, nervous system, and mindset. Available through The Hito Programme (12 weeks) or individual sessions. Works with self-pay patients and premium insurers (WPA, Cigna, Healix).
See Lucy if your condition is:
- Recent or straightforward
- Standard musculoskeletal issue
- You have BUPA, AXA, or Aviva insurance
- You’re a pilot, cabin crew, or cyclist seeking specialist expertise
Lucy uses traditional evidence-based physiotherapy with session-based treatment (typically 4-6 appointments). Fully covered by BUPA, AXA, Aviva.

How is your holistic approach different from traditional physiotherapy?
Most physiotherapy clinics focus solely on treating the body. At Hito, we understand that many physical symptoms are connected to stress, nervous system dysregulation, emotional holding, or trauma. That’s why our care:
- Treats the root cause, not just the symptoms
- Combines advanced hands-on techniques with tools like breathwork, acupuncture, and energy healing
- Recognises the role of the mind-body connection in healing
- Offers integrated support for both physical and emotional recovery
Clients often tell us they finally feel seen, heard, and understood — and experience deeper, longer-lasting results.
Do I need a referral to book an appointment?
No referral is needed. You’re welcome to book directly. If you plan to use private insurance, please check with your provider or contact us for guidance.
What can I expect in a physiotherapy session?
The physiotherapy sessions begin with a full-body and lifestyle assessment, exploring your movement, posture, breathing, stress load, and medical history. Your treatment may include:
- Manual therapy
- Myofascial Induction
- Acupuncture or dry needling
- Exercises
- Recommendations for home practices or further support (e.g. coaching or guided breathwork)
This integrative approach is especially beneficial for complex, recurring, or stress-influenced conditions.
What is included in a 1:1 breathwork and meditation session?
These sessions combine guided breathwork and meditation, and always begin with a breath assessment to understand how you’re breathing and how this may be affecting your wellbeing. In the session, you will:
- Learn how to shift your breath to regulate your nervous system
- Be guided through specific breathing techniques and meditative practices based on your intention (e.g. calm, clarity, release, energy)
- Leave with tools and insights you can continue at home
Sessions are available in person or online, in 30 or 60-minute formats.
How do breathwork, meditation, and coaching integrate with physiotherapy?
At Hito, we view healing as multidimensional. Many of our physiotherapy clients also experience:
- Breath awareness and calming techniques within their treatment
- Sound healing to help shift stuck tension
- Life coaching when it’s clear that emotional patterns or lifestyle stress are influencing physical pain or burnout
These therapies are complementary — and often deepen results when used together.
What is Executive Life Coaching, and who is it for?
Julie offers coaching for professionals, parents, and individuals navigating career stress, burnout, life transitions, or identity shifts. Through a supportive and practical process, clients gain:
- Emotional clarity
- Tools to make aligned decisions
- Support in managing the mental/emotional load that can manifest as physical symptoms
Coaching may be offered as a standalone journey or in conjunction with physiotherapy and wellness therapies.
Do you offer wellbeing sessions for companies?
Yes. We provide customised corporate wellbeing experiences to help employees reset, manage stress, and improve performance. These can include:
- Breathwork & meditation for calm and focus
- Nervous system and stress resilience education
- Sound healing experiences for relaxation
- Wellbeing workshops for leadership or high-performance teams

What is a Sound Bath or Acu-Sound session like?
These sessions use vibrational sound therapy to relax the nervous system and support healing. Acu-Sound combines acupuncture with sound healing — ideal for deep release, clarity, and stress relief. These can be booked on their own or integrated into physiotherapy sessions.
Do you support children and young people?
Yes. Our specialist paediatric physiotherapy supports babies, children, and teens with a variety of needs — from movement patterns to vestibular issues. Sessions are family-focused and developmentally sensitive.

When do I need to book a new initial consultation?

Can I cancel or reschedule my appointment?
Yes — life happens! You can reschedule or cancel your appointment by contacting us via phone or email. We do require at least 24 hours’ notice to avoid a cancellation fee, as short-notice cancellations may not allow us to offer the slot to someone else.

Why do I still need an initial consultation if I already know my condition or diagnosis?
Even if you have a previous diagnosis or medical report, an initial consultation is essential to understand your unique experience of the condition. At Hito, we take time to explore your symptoms, lifestyle, stress levels, movement patterns, and goals. This allows us to craft a truly personalised treatment plan that integrates various therapies, based on what your body and mind need — not just the diagnosis.
Does the initial consultation include treatment, or is it just an assessment?
Yes, treatment is included whenever appropriate. After a thorough assessment, we’ll usually begin hands-on therapy or other relevant techniques during your initial visit. Our goal is to make sure you leave your first session already feeling more supported, clearer about your path forward, and on the way to healing.

Bella MaldenerI highly highly highly recommended Alessio (and his wife- what a dream team). Alessio has such a holistic approach which I have not experienced with any other therapist before. Working in wellness and healing myself, I really appreciate how he combines western and eastern medicine. He has helped me immensely with a shoulder issue and squeezed me in last minute to support me with my acute pain. Look no further and Alessio "sees" you wholly and investigates your pain properly.Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google.

Mamta GuptaI have now had 3 sessions with Dr Alessio Barone. I am very happy I have found this excellent physiotherapist who applies a holistic approach to his practice combining eastern and western philosophies. He listens, he makes me feel better, he provides exercises and recommends equipment. The clinic is managed by both Julie [Alessio's wife] and Alessio. The feel of the clinic when you walk in is nurturing, calming and positive. I feel like this couple really want to help and support me in my rehab and recovery and overall wellbeing. Thank you Alessio and Julie.Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google.

Monica MonicaI had about six craniosacral sessions with Alessio and one acupuncture session. From the very beginning, I felt comfortable and safe with him. His studio is very welcoming, and since I also work in the holistic field, I immediately felt I was in the right place. Alessio also works with sound which I had the pleasure of experiencing with him as well. It was a truly wonderful sound healing journey that allowed me to feel a deep connection with the Divine. The craniosacral sessions helped me a lot to rebalance my body and feel more centered. Over the course of six sessions, I noticed that the tension I had in my back completely disappeared. I am really happy I chose to go to Alessio, not only because he is an excellent practitioner, but also because he is a kind and inspiring person. It is always enriching to share experiences and perspectives with him about our personal growth and evolution, which ultimately helps us support both ourselves and others.Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google.
