Pre/Post Surgery

Pre-surgery care prepares patients for surgery through physical conditioning and education, while post-surgery care involves rehabilitation to restore function, mobility, and strength after surgical procedures.

Standard Medical Approach:

  • Diagnosis: Pre-surgical evaluations including physical exams, imaging, and blood tests. Post-surgical follow-up assessments to monitor recovery.
  • Treatment: Pre-surgery care includes optimizing health through diet, exercise, and sometimes medications. Post-surgery care involves pain management, physical therapy, and wound care.

Hito Holistic Approach

  • Diagnosis: Comprehensive evaluation including physical, postural, emotional, and lifestyle factors.
  • Treatment: Pre-surgery: Myofascial Induction Therapy, Acupuncture, meditation, and exercises to prepare the body and mind for surgery. Post-surgery: Acupuncture to reduce pain and inflammation, lymphatic drainage and Neuromuscolar Taping for the swelling, massage therapy for the soft tissue, Gua Sha and scars therapies to avoid cheloids and internal entrapments. Mobilisation, gentle stretches, light Pilates and yoga then progressively increasing strength are also very important overall the correct progression from passive to active movements and from isometric exercises to isokinetic (or in water) exercises, up to auxotonic (using elastic bands), isotonic (using gym machines) ending with free weights, eccentrics (slow motion exercises) and plyometrics (jumps and explosive movements with rebounds or counter jumps, usually mostly for athletes).
